UWWC MLK Day of Service 2012

Martin Luther King, Jr. believed in the power of service to strengthen communities and achieve common goals. Through his words and example, Dr. King challenged and empowered individuals to take personal action and lift up their neighbors and communities by volunteering. Thank you for doing your part and joining your neighbors and friends for the United Way of Williamson County MLK Day of Service!

When: Monday, January 16, 2012

9am until noon

Where/What: 7 projects in 4 cities; over 200 volunteers needed

MLK Day of Service Projects

Berry Springs Park and Preserve (Georgetown)

Development of nature trail and beautification of existing multi-purpose trail. 30 volunteers needed.

Annunciation Maternity Home (Georgetown)

Warehouse and Merit Room organization. 10 volunteers needed.

Damascus Road Christian Church (Cedar Park)

Kids Helping Kids winter coat distribution. 30 volunteers needed.

Southwest Williamson County Regional Park (Leander)

Nature trail beautification. 60 volunteers needed.

Brushy Creek MUD and Discover Green (Round Rock)

Creek restoration for native bird habitat. 50 volunteers needed.

Callison Elementary School (Round Rock)

Tile mural completion for school display. 10 volunteers needed.

Seton Williamson (Round Rock)

Seed ball creation for areas affected by wildfires and pillow sewing for Elderhaven. 15 volunteers needed.
